CASTOR BASE OIL
Base oils are used either as the necessary carriers that integrate and dilute the essential oils for use in aromatherapy and cosmetology, or on their own purely for cosmetic care. Thus, it is important that they should be 100% pure, just as all the invaluable Base Oils by “Biologos”.
Due to its low molecular mass it can easily penetrate the skin. Its cosmetic uses have been known since the time of ancient Egypt, but during the last few years it has been very popular thanks to its beneficial effect in hair care. It is produced through cold pressing.
COMPOSITION
Rich in ricinoleic acid and omega 9 fatty acids.
THERAPEUTIC USE
Thanks to the acids it contains, this oil has strong anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory qualities. Thus, recently it has been popular against skin disorders such as eczema and acne. It ensures deep cleaning of the sebum, it softens the hardened blackheads and prevents any new infection.
COSMETIC USE
Due to its low molecular mass, castor oil penetrates deep into the epidermis, beyond the keratin outer layer of dead cells. Thus, it is ideal for deep cleaning and moisturizing. It “captures” moisture in the skin and prevents early ageing by dehydration. At the same time, castor oil is popular in boosting hair growth. It is used more and more in care products for hair, eyebrows and eyelashes. Finally, its use in lip balms, body lotions and masks is quite widespread, as well as in care soaps, since it moisturizes and creates a rich foam!
